Eye MakeUp Tips:
It is true to say that our eyes are showing others the way we feel and it even says a lot about who we are. Your eyes show others when you are sad, when you are happy, excited, full of energy or tired. They are the windows to your sole. Therefore it is easy to understand how important your eye makeup is in the whole beauty process.
Eye Makeup Step #1: Always Start With An Eye Primer
Eye primer helps create a smooth surface for the eye makeup. Once the primer has dried, you can apply an eyeshadow base that helps make the eyeshadow stick to the skin better. If you don’t have an eyeshadow base, a concealer or foundation will do.
Eye Makeup Step #2: Start With 4 Basic Shades
For beginners, you want to start with 4 basic shades to pull off an everyday natural look. You need a highlighter that is a shade lighter than your skin tone, a matte mid-tone shade, a contour shade that is 2-3 shades darker than the skin and a matte black shade. If you have a facial highlighter, you can use that too.
You can apply your eye makeup in such a way so that it can show others in what kind of mood you are. You can even give yourself a mysterious look by using eye makeup in a certain way. Your eye makeup is one of the most important aspects of your makeup because it affects your whole look dramatically. And as you can certainly guess, there are tons of eye makeup and tools on the market. These include items such as mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, eyebrow pencils, eyebrow curlers, etc. Now let us look at some of the key eye makeup tips:
Apply Eye Shadow
One of the mistakes some women make is that they think they should use the different eye shadow colors in a palette all at once. Use two or maybe three colors at once or you will look completely silly. It is best practise to use natural and neutral colors until you completely get the hang of it.
It is also important that you use eye shadow colors that match each other. Makeup companies place matching colors together in a palette so that it is easier for the beginner to know which colors compliment each other.
Eye shadow is normally found in a hard and compressed powder form. You can use a foam brush or eye shadow brush to apply it. You also get cream eye shadows and eye shadow pencils. These items are growing in popularity each day.
You will soon realize that there are many types of eyeliners available on the market. The liquid eyeliner is a popular choice for dramatic or evening makeup. You should practise well to keep your hand very steady when using it. Then you get eyeliner pencils which should be sharpened every once and a while. It is easier to use an eyeliner pencil when you start to use eyeliner for the first time. After using your eyeliner pencil you can use a sponge to blend it in well for a mysterious look.
Eye Makeup Step #3: Grab The Essential Eye Makeup Brushes
You will need a small flat eyeshadow brush for application, a small and medium-sized blending brush and a smudger (optional).
Eye Makeup Step #4: Glide Your Flat Brush
Glide your flat brush on the lightest shade and apply this on the inner corner of the eyes. This is where most of the product should be and then you can easily blend outwards after.Make sure to tap your brush before applying to remove excess product.
Eye Makeup Step #5: Here’S A Neat Trick You Can Try
Dip the tip of the brush in water enough to dampen it. Then glide it on the eyeshadow and apply again in the inner-most corner of the eyes (tearduct area). You’ll be amazed at how pigmented it is.
When you’re done with that, use the same color and highlight the arch of your eyebrows.
Mascara is probably the most popular makeup item. There are many women that don’t wear any makeup except for mascara. Mascara makes a huge difference to your appearance as it places focus on your eyes and extent the length of your lashes considerably.
When you dip the mascara stick into the mascara you should remember to remove the access before applying it. Make zig-zag movements so that your lashes don’t stick to each other. There are many types and colors available but black remains the most popular.
You are now able to buy mascara that is waterproof. So if you are going to a wedding or any other event that it is going to be a bit emotional, then try waterproof mascara.
Use an Eyelash Curler
A great tool to have is an eyelash curler that can really make your lashes even longer and give it a beautiful shape. Bring heat to the eyelash curler with a hairdryer before using it to ensure that your lashes stay in its position. After giving your lashes a few good squeezes with the curler you should apply your mascara to set it in its position. Shaping your eyebrows is also a very important step in your makeup routine. You should use an eyebrow brush to comb your eyebrows. You will then be able to see which hairs should be removed and which areas should be filled in.
For lots of women dark circles and puffiness under their eyes is a big problem. Circles under the eyes are caused by dehydration and not getting enough sleep so make sure you get your 6 to 8 hours of sleep and drink lots of water. You also might have issues with allergies. Allergies can also cause dark circles. Use a concealer to cover those circles. The concealer should be 1 to 2 shades lighter than your normal skin tone. It works great.
Practise a lot with eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner and concealer. You certainly will start to see a wonderful difference in your appearance. Organize a day with your friends and try new looks on each other. You will be very glad that you’ve started to use eye makeup.
Eye Makeup Step #7: Contour The Eyes
Using the contour shade, apply from the outer corner while blending into the crease on the outer half of the eye. Please make sure that you don’t blend too high because the mid-tone shade should always be higher than the contour shade.
Eye Makeup Step #6: Mid-Tone Shade
Now on to the mid-tone shade. Use a blending brush to apply the eyeshadow above the crease, blending from the outer corner inwards.
How will you know you didn’t overdo it with the shadow? Hold your brush at the edge of your nose going up to the edge of the eyes. Anything below the line should be clear.
